Adi Shankaracharya popularised the concept of the Chardham Yatra Package From Delhi. The 8th-century philosopher and saint, who sought to unify Hinduism through spiritual journeys. Although the Char Dham originally comprised Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram. It was to refer to the Uttarakhand version of the pilgrimage. Yamunotri is the first destination in the Chardham Yatra Package From Haridwar. It is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, who is considered the sister of Yama, the god of death. According to Hindu mythology, Yamuna is the daughter of Surya, the Sun God, and Sanjana. It is believed that a holy dip in the Yamuna River can free devotees from the sufferings of death and grant them a peaceful afterlife.
The temple was built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal and has a black marble idol of Goddess Yamuna. The trek to Yamunotri is very gruelling as it involves a trek across difficult terrain, but pilgrims who undertake this journey do so with faith that cannot be shaken. Another sacred hot spring is Surya Kund, near the temple. Where devotees cook rice and potatoes as an offering to goddess Yamuna.
Gangotri is the birthplace of the Ganges River in the form of Goddess Ganga. The King Bhagirath had done severe penance to bring Ganga down from heaven to dust so that the souls could be purified of his ancestors' wrongdoings. Lord Shiva restrained the unimaginable force of the river by catching her into his matted locks so that the sacred water flows softly to the world. Book our best package! The Gangotri Temple was constructed by Amar Singh Thapa, a Gorkha general, in the 18th century. The river originates from the Gaumukh glacier, and it is believed that taking a dip in the icy waters of Bhagirathi (the initial name of the Ganga) washes away all sins. The temple remains open from May to October. The temple authorities shift the deity to Mukhba village for the winter months after which.
Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds very high space in Hindu mythology. According to it, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas approached Lord Shiva so that he could clear them off of their wrongdoing. However, Shiva dodged them and assumed the form of a bull. Then, when the Pandavas could finally hold him fast, Shiva dived into the ground, and his hump came above ground. That's where the Kedarnath temple stands today.
Adi Shankaracharya played a crucial role in reviving this pilgrimage site and establishing the temple in its current form. Despite being located in an extremely challenging and remote location, Kedarnath continues to attract thousands of devotees every year. The temple, built of massive stone slabs, has withstood the test of time. Including the devastating 2013 floods, proving its divine protection. EpicYatra offers you the Chardham Yatra Family Package.

Since then, the temple has been a prime place for pilgrims, and millions visit it each year. Tapt Kund, a natural hot spring close to the temple, is supposed to have medicinal properties and is an important part of this pilgrimage.
